Smom's Lifestyle- The Calming Shower Soap Shop: Everyone knows that they can count on you...

You’re the one at work who’s always smiling, helping your coworkers when they need it, giving advice and answering questions, and you keep everything on track.

Everyone knows that they can count on you and you know what you know what you are doing. Everyone sees your calmness on the outside.

But inside? Your mind is still racing. You’re replaying meetings, thinking about what still needs to get done, and feeling all that stress and tension in your body from a full day of decisions and problem-solving. It’s a lot. And when you leave for the day, your face is smiling, but your insides are yelling.

That stress doesn’t just disappear when you leave your desk — it can and will follow even after the workday is technically over.

So how can you calm back down from the day?

Try this…

Drink something with focus

This is a simple way to give your body and brain a mini reset:

Pick a drink you enjoy — hot cocoa, tea, or sparkling water.

Sit down and sip it without doing anything else. No scrolling on your phone, no multitasking. Take it to the porch if you need to. But, don’t do anything else.

Pay attention to the smell, the temperature, how it feels in your hands, and the taste. ( You can even do some slow deep breathes in between those slow sips)

When you focus on just that one thing, your brain gets a break from constantly planning, problem-solving, and thinking ahead. Your mind settles and the tension from the day starts to fade away.🧼🚿❤️😌

Try it tonight.

Even a few minutes of mindful sipping can help you leave work behind and feel lighter, calmer, and ready to actually enjoy your evening.

Until next time,
Jessica πŸ’œπŸͺ»

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that just one little thing (a hot shower, your favorite smelling soap and lotion, even candle scents) can start shifting your whole day around.

I actually put together a short guide with 5 super simple ways to ‘wash away stress’ when you’re stretched thin, because I kept finding myself in that exact spot.

If you’d like it, I’d be happy to DM it to you or use this linkπŸ‘‰πŸΎhttps://smomslifestyle.kit.com/633aa8f1a2 to download it. It’s been helpful to me and some other women and might add a couple extra ideas to try. πŸ’œ

Smom's Lifestyle- The Calming Shower Soap Shop: Stop Struggling with Work Stress and Anxiety- This Is How You Can Create Simple Rituals with Essential Oils and Stop Bringing Work Stress Home

Work stress or anxiety doesn’t just end when the workday does.

Your body carries it home — in your shoulders, your back, your racing thoughts. It shows up as a headache or even high blood pressure.

That’s why you need simple, repeatable ways to tell your body: the day is done.

At Smom’s Lifestyle, I know how busy life is when you are juggling work, kids, and family. But the stress you carry doesn’t go away because you have - work, kids, and family. If anything, it can make those feelings feel more intense.

It helps so much to have a few simple ways to tell your body: the workday is over- to help you turn work mode off so you can bring down those feelings of stress and anxiousness after work.

Here are 3 simple things you can stop work stress from coming home with you so you can feel better tonight-

#1 Change environments fast

As soon as you’re home, change your clothes and step outside too for a little fresh air for a few minutes. A short change in scenery helps you switch gears and having time outside is ALWAYS a good reset for your mind and body.

#2 Pick a “workday’s over” signal

Take a shower with aromatherapy soap, light a candle, play music, or even just wash your face. Use the same ritual everyday so your body learns: we’re done with work now. Mine looks like this- I get the kids a snack, I light a small candle in my bathroom, I stand in the shower for a minute let the hot water run on my back to relax the tightness I feel in my upper back and shoulders, then I take a shower with an aromatherapy soap ( whatever I have on hand or a smell I really like). It’s simple and I feel so much better afterwards.

#3 Drink something with focus

Sip hot cocoa, tea, or even sparkling water without… multitasking anything else. Think about the smell, the temperature, and the taste. It helps your body slow down, and helps your brain focus on exactly what you are doing right now instead of thinking ahead and planning what you need to do next- in short it gives your brain a break and a little time to recover from a day full of thinking and making decisions.

These don’t take long — but they make it easier to leave work at work and actually enjoy your evening.

Until next time,

Jessica πŸ’œ

Smom's Lifestyle- The Calming Shower Soap Shop: When you want to feel peace, not just read about it

You’ve heard all the wellness tips.
You’ve probably saved the reels.
You may even have the planner to help you organize it.

But none of that changes the fact that work can leave you very drained.
It’s the kind of day when you make one small mistake on your work and feel like everyone noticed.

The days when you leave work but your brain is still replaying the emails, the meetings, something someone said to you about your work, and the to-do list that you didn’t finish again today.

The days when you sit in traffic and then when you finally get home, your body is still tight with tension and stress — even after you change out of your work clothes and into your sweatpants and making dinner.

You don’t  want peace to just be something you read about.
It has to be something you can feel too.

For me, that moment starts after work when I come home and take a shower.

The sound of the water is a reset button my nervous system actually listens to. And the scent of lavender essential oil  turns it from “just another shower” into a few minutes of real calm.

That’s why I created the calming shower soap experience- it’s about  more than just soap.

It’s a workday-stress release ritual. It's a way to reduce work stress and anxiety. It’s a way to let go of the overwhelm and the need to have everything done.
It’s a way to tell your body, the work day is done- let go of it now.

This isn’t another tip for when you’re feeling overwhelmed by work— it’s just a small, repeatable moment that helps you trade tension for peace….. After work, right there in your shower.

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves that just one little thing (a hot shower, your favorite smelling soap and lotion, even candle scents) can start shifting your whole day around.

Smom's Lifestyle- The Calming Shower Soap Shop: Breaking the After-Work Anxiety Loop: One Small Change That Works

Breaking the After-Work Anxiety Loop: One Small Change That Works

Do you have to ride home in silence after work?

When you get out of your car and walk in the door after a long work day, your body doesn’t automatically know the workday is over.

Your muscles are still carrying the stress and tension from all the business of the day.

And your nerves?

Everything seems to be a trigger.

Your nerves are part of why your anxiety feels worse in the evenings — your body hasn’t been given a chance to slow down and switch gears.

If you keep doing nothing about it…

You find yourself collapsed on the couch in exhaustion, but your mind won’t stop racing.

You’ll  try to sleep tonight, but your body will still feel wired and your mind will feel foggy.

And the cycle will continue. You’ll wake up tired, already behind before the day even gets to start.

And you’ll do this day after day, week after week, month after month, and year after year.

Then, it starts showing up as high blood pressure and more.

But when you give your body a small break — like stepping into a shower and pairing it with aromatherapy. The calming scent of lavender essential oils — you can break that cycle.

The hot water helps release the naturally calming essential oils and the stress in your muscles will slowly melt away.

The lavender aroma helps quiet your mind.

And your nerves feel calm too.

Aromatherapy makes your shower not “just a shower.”

It’s a way to protect your peace, lower that anxious feeling, and actually help you get better sleep at night to recharge for the next day.

That’s why this matters. Because doing nothing keeps you stuck in that loop. One small change... in your shower and switching your soap to one with lavender aromatherapy — a cue to your nerves to feel calm — it can change the way your stress and anxiety feels and how it affects you and your body after work. πŸ’œ

Smom's Lifestyle- The Calming Shower Soap Shop: The Overlooked Reason You Feel Both Drained and Anxious

The Overlooked Reason You Feel Both Drained and Anxious

Have you ever had this feeling like your brain feels foggy- you're forgetting everything. You’re supposed to be doing one thing, but then you forget what it is you even need to do or what you're trying to look for.

It’s like you find yourself walking in circles and feeling like a crazy person walking from one room to another room and then back to the room you started out in?? LOL πŸ˜‚

All the while you’re also wired...

Moving slow because you’re tired but thoughts moving fast and thinking fast?
Yep. I know it because I’ve been there. And sometimes I find myself there even now.

But the thing about that feeling.
Most of us chop it up as just being tired.
That’s not just tiredness.

That’s a bit of anxiety mixed with your nervous system being overwhelmed.
And one thing I’ve learned:
Your body needs help coming back down from that.

That’s where aromatherapy can make a really big difference.
Lavender essential oil, especially, works very well. Pure lavender essential oil calms both your body and your mind.

There are so many ways you can use your 5 senses and enjoy the calming benefits of lavender.
There’s lavender tea you can slow sip.

There’s lavender essential oil blends that come in a roll- on bottle that work great. These are great because you can put these oils on your skin. You can easily take it with you on the go and apply the lavender essential oil on your neck, rub it under your chin, put it on your wrist or rub it behind your ears.

You can also light a candle that has an essential oil blend (mix of oils) to enjoy a bit of aromatherapy.

But, one of my favorite ways to enjoy lavender is in the shower. Showering with an aromatherapy lavender soap (or blended scents). The hot shower water and steam helps the essential oils & scent escape while you lather soap. You get to wash with that calming scent that just put you in such a zen space- it slows your thoughts (or it give you the best ideas too when you're trying to brainstorm about something) and relaxes your body.

It eases the tension, stress and anxiety.

And after a busy day at work, you need that kind of chill, soothing, slow moment — a chance to breathe, reset, and actually feel the work day go so you can be what you need to be for your family after you get home.

I’m creating something to make this SUPER easy for you and I’ll show you soon so be sure to follow Smom’s Lifestyle so you don’t miss out.

Smom's Lifestyle- The Calming Shower Soap Shop: Lavender Aromatherapy Soap- It isn’t just a “relaxing smell” —

Lavender isn’t just a “relaxing smell” —

It’s one of THE BEST essential oils for anxiety, stress, and sleep.

It’s been part of aromatherapy that a lot of people use and love (including me) because it actually helps your body and mind shift out of stress mode.

And if you’re not sure what aromatherapy is, it's simply using natural plant oils & scents that help ease your body and mind into a different state — a calmer, more focused, more relaxed space.

When you breathe in real lavender essential oil, your nervous system gets the signal:
You can slow down.

That’s why I love using lavender essential oils in a gentle, plant-based aromatherapy soap.

You're going to take a shower or bath anyway, so let it help you let go of some stress and anxiety too in the process.

That shower you were going to take anyway?

You get a 2 for 1 — it's helping you wash off the day and giving your brain a calm-down signal at the same time to help you relax and take the edge off.

You don’t have to carry that stress around with you all day. It doesn't have to come home with you and linger around the house.

Let anything that was left undone go for now. You just need this small moment, to unwind and stop feeling wired.

Lavender essential oil can be an everyday cue that reminds your body it’s okay to let go —

and pure lavender essential oil in your soap is one of the EASIEST ones to start with.

I’m creating something to make this SUPER easy for you and I know you'll find this so helpful. πŸ’œ

Smom's Lifestyle- The Calming Shower Soap Shop: Tiny routines that restore you with Aromatherapy Lavender Soap

Tiny routines that restore you with aromatherapy lavender soap

When you’re busy, time is always of the essence. But your body and mind still need a signal that it’s okay to slow down especially when you've been on the move ALL day.

The thing is—when you spend all day in “go mode,” though, your nervous system doesn’t just switch off when you get home or get off work.

If you skip that step, you stay stuck in “go mode” even after you’re done with work.

 — It’s why you still feel tense, wired, overwhelmed, restless, and drained, even at home.

You don’t need an elaborate self-care routine.

You need something that keeps things simple for you. But, something that you can do everyday that helps you and your nerves feel better even if you have small kids and babies.

Something as simple as a 10-minute shower with lavender aromatherapy soap can give your nervous system that much-needed off switch.

Warm water and real lavender essential oil loosens tight muscles. Gets rid of tension headaches. And calms your mind. The scent of pure lavender essential oil tells your brain, “just relax right now.” And for that moment, it forces you to just be

— there’s no decisions you need to make, no noise- beside the sound of water hitting the shower floor. Maybe it’s also the sound of a podcast or a Youtube video playing in the background. Whatever the sound is… it’s optional. It’s just time for you and a moment of peace.

It’s what I call the Calming Shower Soap Experience. My micro-ritual is something I’ve been doing for years and it’s helped me so much after work.  It’s helped reduce those anxious episodes and calm racing thoughts. It’s something I started doing during Covid after work.

Now, I’m much calmer after work and when the kids are home. I feel more grounded and (surprisingly) more productive.  You can have your moment alone without feeling guilty about it. And it’s possible even if you think you don’t have time- because it’s built on a habit you already have. Your shower.

I’m creating something to make this SUPER easy for you and I’ll show you soon so be sure to follow Smom’s Lifestyle so you don’t miss out.
